Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
Our full website, including the instant quote tool described below, is coming soon. Until then, this site is a single holding page.
This privacy policy (our privacy notice under the GDPR) explains how Pulse Horizon Transport ("we", "us") uses personal information about the people who visit this website, ask us for a quote or work with us. We have tried to keep it short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, ask us.
1. Who we are
The data controller is Hugh O'Sullivan, trading as Pulse Horizon Transport, Galway, Ireland, a haulage business.
You can also message us on WhatsApp.
We are a small business and are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer. For any privacy question or request, contact us at the email address above.

You do not have to give us any information, but we cannot quote for or carry out a job without the details of the load and how to contact you.
3. How the quote form, email and WhatsApp links work
- The instant price runs in your browser. Our website does not store what you type. To work out the route it uses two outside services, described in section 4.
- "Request this quote" and the "Send quote request" form open your own email app with the details filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app. If you give us the name and phone number of someone at the collection or delivery site, please make sure they know you are sharing their details with us so our driver can contact them; we use them only for that job. The message then goes through your email provider to our mailbox at info@pulsehorizontransport.ie, which is hosted by Google.
- The "WhatsApp us" button is a plain link (wa.me) that opens WhatsApp. Nothing is sent to WhatsApp or to us until you tap it, and nothing is sent to us until you send a message. WhatsApp is provided in the EU by WhatsApp Ireland Limited, part of Meta, under its own terms and privacy policy. If you would rather not use WhatsApp, please email us instead.
- The price is an estimate only. It is worked out automatically, but no decision is made about you automatically. A person checks every request and confirms the actual price and booking. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling with legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who receives your information
We do not sell your information. We share it only as follows:
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) – business email (Google Workspace). Google acts as our processor.
- Komoot – Photon place search (komoot GmbH, Germany). When you type at least 3 letters in Point A or Point B, your typed text and your IP address go from your browser to photon.komoot.io to suggest places. Komoot keeps request logs for a limited time to run the service.
- OSRM route server run by FOSSGIS e.V. (Germany) at router.project-osrm.org. When you ask for a price, the map coordinates of the places you chose and your IP address are sent there to calculate road distances. Request logs are kept by the operator.
- postcodes.io (run by Ideal Postcodes Ltd, UK). Used only when you type a UK postcode in Point A or Point B, to find where it is. It receives the postcode and your IP address.
- OpenStreetMap Foundation – Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org, UK). Used only as a backup place search if Photon does not respond. It receives the place name and your IP address.
- Our website host, Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages, USA), which keeps standard server logs (IP address, date and time, page requested) to deliver and protect the site. The host acts as our processor.
- WhatsApp Ireland Limited (part of Meta), only if you choose to message or call us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp handles your messages under its own privacy policy.
- Revolut (Revolut Bank UAB, Lithuania), our bank. It receives payer details when you pay an invoice.
- People involved in carrying out your job, only where needed: ferry operators, customs agents, Revenue and customs authorities in Ireland, the UK or the EU, and the consignee or consignor.
- Others where the law requires or to protect our rights: Revenue, the Road Safety Authority, An Garda Síochána or other authorities; our insurers; professional advisers such as an accountant or solicitor, if we appoint them.
Photon, the OSRM server and Nominatim are run by their operators under their own terms. We pass them only what is needed to find places and routes. Please do not type personal details, such as a home address with your name, into the place boxes. A town, port or business address is enough.
5. Transfers outside the EU
Komoot and FOSSGIS are based in Germany, in the EU. Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are in the United States. Transfers to them are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. WhatsApp Ireland Limited is in Ireland, but WhatsApp is part of Meta and some information may be processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States; WhatsApp says such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (see its privacy policy). The OpenStreetMap Foundation is in the United Kingdom, which is covered by an EU adequacy decision. If a job involves the UK or another country, the details needed for that job (for example, customs and ferry records) are sent there because the job requires it.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and quotes that do not lead to a booking: deleted 12 months after our last contact.
- Booking, invoice, payment and accounting records, including CMR and delivery notes: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to (Irish tax and VAT rules), or longer if a claim is open.
- Business contact details used for B2B contact: until you object, or 2 years after our last contact.
- Email, WhatsApp messages and call records: kept for the same period as the record they belong to above. We delete WhatsApp chats that do not lead to a booking within 12 months of our last contact.
- Your cookie choice: stored in your own browser for 6 months, then we ask again. You can delete it at any time.
- Website server logs: kept by our host, Cloudflare, for a short period under its own policy. Logs at Komoot, FOSSGIS and OpenStreetMap are kept by those operators under their own policies.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the information we hold about you and get a copy;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete it ("right to be forgotten");
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- receive information you gave us in a portable, machine-readable format (data portability);
- object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests, and at any time to direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on your consent. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means only, and we do not profile you (see section 3).
Email info@pulsehorizontransport.ie to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month. Some rights are limited, for example where the law requires us to keep invoice records.
You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, Ireland. Website: www.dataprotection.ie. Phone: (01) 765 01 00. We would appreciate the chance to sort out your concern first.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
This website sets no cookies. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and no embedded maps, videos or social media plugins. Our fonts are stored on our own website, so loading a page does not contact Google or other font services. The only thing stored on your device is your answer to our cookie notice (pht_cookie_choice in your browser's local storage, kept for 6 months), which is strictly necessary. The only outside services your browser contacts are the place-search and route services in section 4, and only when you use the quote tool. If we ever add anything optional, it will only be used if you choose Accept.
Full details are in our Cookie policy. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings.
9. Security
Our email and files are kept in password-protected business accounts. Only the people who need the information can access it. Paper records are kept secure and are shredded when no longer needed.
10. Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's information.
11. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if how we use information changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
